Introduction

Evercrete EW is an environmentally friendly, non-toxic, non-flammable, penetrating alkali activated silica aerogel that seals, hardens, and preserves most wood materials. It has the ability to extend the lifetime of most wooden structures and elements by hardening, preserving and sealing it for protection. Evercrete EW will improve the durability of timber against fungus, mold and insect damage. It hardens the surface, increasing both strength and abrasion resistance and does not alter the texture or other physical characteristics of the wooden surface to which it is applied. It also provides a prepared surface for better bonding of varnish, paint, and mastics and helps the wood to retain its natural color much longer. Evercrete EW is highly effective and versatile that is applicable to a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential work applications that meets the required needs of your construction project.

How Does it Work

Upon penetration, the catalyst in Evercrete Everwood reacts with the alkali and acids present in most wood cells, forming an aero silica gel membrane on the surface of the cell walls. This membrane forms an internal seal and barrier against water and other causes of deterioration. Over a period of time the silica gel membrane hydrates and hardens into a crystalline structure within the wood leaving a clear natural finish and leaving no film or membrane on the wood surface. Evercrete Everwood needs one application only for a lifetime of protection of your wood materials.

Where it can be used

Evercrete Everwood has hundreds of possible applications both commercially and domestically. Virtually, any wooden structure from a building frame to patio furniture will benefit from Evercrete Everwood. Other applications include log homes, decks, basements, window boxes, window and door frames, cedar siding, cedar shakes, cedar shingles, fences, kitchen countertops, cutting boards, planting tubs and storage sheds are to name but a few. If it’s made of wood, chances are it would certainly benefit from Evercrete Everwood.
